I am only 19 years old and have finally figured out that being "too nice" is a major turn off for women. I read alot of articles about this and have alot of female friends who help me with this factor. I finally showed that I wasn't going to be walked on and had confidence in everything I said. I figure, if a woman won't be with me for who I am, then why try?. It worked! I find that you will date more worthy, caring women if you just act natural and understand that they do have arms and legs and can do things for themselves. I'm not saying let them carry in all the groceries or fix leaky pipes. But understand that if you baby someone, they will push you away for a more "challenging" relationship.
