Just as Confused

I'm in the exact same boat but I'm the dominant(stud) female in this relationship and she is what is called a femme or more passive female. We also have a 2 year-old son. When I sat my girlfriend down to tell her how I felt about moving out, she as well flipped out on me and so I just decided to let it go and sleep on it. I feel as though it will help our relationship by us having our own space, time apart to miss each other and not sweat the small things as much because we both have our own space. We have been together for 2 years and friends for 4. We are madly in love and I couldn't see myself with anyone else.....
